Kyiv Has Created a Fleet of Sea Drones, Says Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claims that Kyiv has established a fleet of maritime drones, which is already operational in the Black Sea. This was reported by tass.ru.

"For the first time in the world, a fleet of naval drones has begun operating right in the Black Sea — the Ukrainian Navy," he stated in a video address to participants of the Parliamentary Assembly's main session.

At the end of August, the Ukrainian publication Defence Express reported that a separate brigade had been formed within the Ukrainian Armed Forces to operate maritime kamikaze drones. In September, Zelensky mentioned that the country was creating a fleet of maritime drones. On November 14, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced that Kyiv had initiated mass production of surface drones. However, he did not provide any details regarding the number of drones produced or currently being produced.

The Russian Ministry of Defense regularly reports the destruction of Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea and the elimination of storage and production sites for such drones.
