We are discussing the draft of the 2024 State Budget. First, I will present what we plan to do in various sectors in 2024. This was stated by Gevork Papoyan, the chair of the National Assembly's Permanent Commission on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.

“The 2024 state budget is the largest in the history of the Republic of Armenia in terms of its expenditure and revenue volumes. The expenditures will amount to 3 trillion 17 billion drams, and I believe that these figures will increase before their final review. In 2024, the state will spend approximately $7.5 billion for various purposes, including benefits, pensions, education, science, the army, and so on. The expenses for next year are comparable to the GDP of 2009. Just five years ago, this figure was planned to be only 1 trillion 465 billion drams. It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister promised back in April 2018 from the Republic Square to increase state revenues by 30-40% within two years, at that time, the authorities unanimously considered it unrealistic and mocked. We can declare that the promise has not only been fulfilled but also exceeded,” said Papoyan.
