VIDEO: Diesel Fuel Prices in Armenia are the Highest Among EAEU Countries, Says MP

Diesel fuel prices in Armenia are the highest among all EAEU countries.

This was stated by MP Garnik Danielyan from the "Armenia" faction during the announcements time in the National Assembly of Armenia.

According to him, due to the inaction of the authorities, direct harm is being inflicted on the citizens' wallets. "In recent months, diesel fuel prices have been rising without economic justification. The cost of liquid gas has increased from 160 drams to 220 drams, while the price of premium gasoline has exceeded 570 drams per liter. This indicates a complete lack of control in the sector. The State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition should have been addressing this issue, yet not only is it not investigating the reasons for the price increase, but the chairman of the commission has stated that in their view, gasoline prices are still quite low," he emphasized.

The MP does not rule out that the chairman of the Anti-Monopoly Agency's remarks may have given an opportunity for businessmen engaged in the import and sale of gasoline to further increase gasoline prices.

“In the past, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan used to say from the National Assembly podium, ‘If gasoline prices rise, let’s sell our cars; if butter has gone up in price, let’s eat mixed greens...’ And this is said by a person under whose reign almost all sectors are experiencing a downturn, and we are facing new security challenges,” stated Danielyan.
