Pentagon Uses Russian Oil Products Despite Sanctions, WP

The Pentagon is using Russian oil products despite established sanctions, according to the Washington Post. The publication reports that an investigation revealed that the Motor Oil Hellas refinery in Greece, one of the suppliers for the U.S. military, is able to receive Russian oil through a multi-component supply chain.

It is noted that the supply chain involves traders from the UAE and a Turkish terminal. As a result, Russian oil is being rebranded and supplied to the U.S. military and other countries that have imposed bans on Russian oil products.

Earlier, the U.S. Treasury had submitted inquiries to companies managing 100 tankers allegedly transporting Russian oil intended for export, circumventing sanctions imposed by the West.
