Deputy Colonel of the Ministry of Defense Rolls Vehicle into Ravine: 1 Dead, 1 Injured
A tragic car accident has occurred in the Kotayk region. On November 10, at 22:52, the Crisis Management National Center received reports of a traffic incident in the Babajanyan neighborhood of Arinj village, Kotayk region. This has been confirmed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Emergency responders from the fire and rescue division of the capital's emergency management service, along with a rescue team from the special operations center of the Rescue Forces department, quickly arrived at the scene.
It has been established that a Chevrolet Niva vehicle (driven by V. T., born in 1975) veered off the road and rolled into a ravine. Rescuers extracted the driver from the vehicle and handed him over to the ambulance service; both the driver and his passenger were hospitalized.
Rescuers secured the vehicle's gas tank valve and conducted cooling operations. According to Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, Vahan T. and his passenger, 33-year-old Nelli M. from Yerevan, were taken to the Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center with critical injuries.
On November 11, the hospital reported to the Kotayk Police that injured Nelli M. had passed away without regaining consciousness. According to source reports, the driver and the deceased are married, and the driver serves as a deputy colonel in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
