Northern Gaza Declared Evacuation Zone: Israel to Give Residents Time
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they will allow residents of Gaza to evacuate southward. This information is reported by the BBC Russian service.
Evacuations will take place along Salah al-Din Road, the main highway of the Gaza Strip that runs from north to south, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM local time (12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Yerevan time).
It is noted that such a program has been developed today, but the military has reported that Hamas militants have attacked Israeli soldiers along the route. The IDF has accused Hamas of opposing the evacuation of peaceful civilians from northern Gaza in order to continue using them as human shields.
Israel has declared northern Gaza an evacuation zone, urging residents to flee south, although the southern part of the zone has also been subjected to airstrikes. According to American data, approximately 350,000 to 400,000 people remain in the north.
