VIDEO: They Wanted to Seize State-Designated Buildings in Armenia: NSS Revelation
The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has revealed attempts to prepare for a terrorist act involving the seizure of state-designated buildings. Through comprehensive operational and investigative measures, it was discovered that a group, including individuals identified as A.M., S.M., E.T., V.O., and K.S., had conspired to gather tools and means to execute an explosion and other dangerous acts throughout 2023.
The group had aimed not only to perpetrate these acts but also to threaten civilian lives and cause significant property damage, intending to disrupt the activities of public authority bodies. However, they could not commence the execution of their criminal intentions due to the timely intervention by the NSS.
Based on sufficient evidence obtained during the criminal proceedings, criminal charges have been filed against five members of the criminal group under the relevant articles of Armenia's Criminal Code, with pre-trial detention applied as a preventive measure.
Simultaneously, searches were conducted at the residences of the group's members and associated locations, uncovering firearms, military ammunition, an explosive device, and various other items, including computers, mobile phones, and documents containing incriminating information related to terrorist activities. Notably, some documents referenced a planned operation called “Northern Leaf Fall,” which aimed to mobilize broader communities for terrorist acts.
Furthermore, it was found that they planned to create Ukrainian and Moldovan Telegram channels under the name “National Salvation Rebellion” to activate activists on the eve of the intended attack.
The investigation continues, with additional operational measures being implemented to clarify the full circumstances of the case and the involvement of all individuals linked to the criminal group. The NSS emphasizes its commitment to combating crimes against the constitutional order and state security, urging society to demonstrate lawful conduct.
