VIDEO: Russian Tourists Stranded at Cuban Airport
Passengers of the "Russia" airline are unable to fly from Cuba's Varadero resort to Moscow due to a flight delay. This was reported on Wednesday, November 1, by a source from "Izvestia". The airline's press secretary Sergey Starikov clarified that the delay was initially due to technical reasons. Subsequently, due to the lengthy duration of the Cuba-Moscow flight, "after fixing the malfunction, the crew reached their working hour limits." As a result, the aircraft crew members had to go to a hotel to rest.
He also noted that the total duration of the flight delay will be approximately 10 hours, and passengers will be provided with drinks and food. People are exhausted and are forced to sleep in chairs. A few hours ago, they were given food—a cold sandwich and a bottle of water. Banking cards are not functioning, and no hotel has been provided. According to reports, about 400 people are waiting to depart from Cuba.
