The issue in our country is not to ensure high or low prices, but to provide competitive prices. This was stated by Gegham Gevorgyan, the head of the Competition Protection Commission, during the discussion of the 2024 state budget in the National Assembly.

Presenting the situation in the gasoline market, he assured that the volumes of market players in Armenia have changed significantly since 2018, and new players have also emerged.

Gevorgyan pointed out that in our country, fuel prices are compared with those in neighboring countries, leading to the perception that they are high in Armenia. "Take the gasoline price, compare it with the price in Georgia, and see if it's expensive or not," he emphasized.

The head of the Competition Protection Commission provided details on why this comparison is misleading.
