VIDEO: Dagestan Leader Admits Embarrassment Over Makhachkala Disturbances

Dagestan's leader Sergey Melikov has confessed that he feels embarrassed about the events that took place at the Makhachkala airport, as reported by TASS.

"I am ashamed of the events that occurred yesterday, as Dagestan, like the Caucasus and throughout our entire Russia, and perhaps even more widely, has always been a bastion of friendship," he stated.

The regional leader believes that the people of Dagestan did not display their best qualities by attacking the airport. Melikov is confident that the disturbances in Makhachkala were directed from Ukrainian territory. He pointed out that the unrest was supported by those who have not benefited from the socio-economic transformations in the region.
