South Korea, the USA, and Japan Conduct Joint Air Exercises for the First Time

South Korea, the USA, and Japan have conducted joint air force exercises for the first time. This was reported by the Yonhap agency, citing a source in the South Korean military.

The exercises took place south of the Korean Peninsula, outside the airspace of the Republic of Korea. They involved the American B-52H strategic bomber along with fighter jets from the three countries, namely the F-15K and F-16, which conducted combat escort operations for the bomber.

It is noted that the current trilateral air exercises are aimed at developing agreements reached by the leaders of South Korea, the USA, and Japan during the August meeting at Camp David. Previously, Seoul, Washington, and Tokyo had resumed joint naval exercises.
