No Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza, IDF Claims
The representative of the Israeli security service assures that there is currently no humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip as military forces continue to instruct Palestinians to move south, reported the Times of Israel.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, nearly 700,000 people have been evacuated to the south from the northern part of Gaza, which has a population of 1.1 million.
“At this moment, I can say that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. There are difficulties related to the movement of people to the south of the Gaza Strip, but the population is enduring,” the official told journalists.
“There is no shortage of water in Gaza, food will be sufficient in the upcoming weeks, and this, in addition to the supplies of medicine, which, as far as we know, are not lacking in hospitals,” he stated.
According to him, Hamas is still attempting to obstruct people’s movement to the south. The official representative of the IDF, Colonel Daniel Hagari, announced at a press conference that food, water, and medical assistance will be delivered to southern Gaza through the Egyptian “Rafah” crossing.
“Fuel will not be supplied to Gaza,” said Hagari. He added that the IDF will “continue to strike Hamas strongholds in northern Gaza.”
