US Naval Forces Destroy Three Missiles Launched from Yemen

The US Naval Forces have destroyed three missiles fired from northern Yemen, reports AP.

Officials have stated that the US Navy destroyer Carney was in the Red Sea and intercepted the missiles. It remains unclear whether they were aimed at Israel. One official mentioned that the United States does not believe the missiles were targeted at the ship.

In Yemen, Houthi rebels have expressed support for the Palestinians and threatened Israel. Last week in Sana'a, Yemen’s capital held by the Houthi rebels who are still fighting against a Saudi-led coalition, protesters filled the streets waving Yemeni and Palestinian flags. The rebels' slogan is well known: “God is Greatest. Death to America. Death to Israel. Curse the Jews. Victory to Islam.”

Last week, the leader of the rebel group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, warned the United States about interfering in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, stating that his forces would fire drones and missiles towards them.
