The Armenian government is set to start the allocation of 40,000 + 10,000 drams for October 2023 to individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. This announcement was made by Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, during a government session.

“Regardless of age, individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh will receive support in October amounting to 40,000 drams for temporary housing and 10,000 drams for covering utility expenses, over a period of six months,” he emphasized.

The minister also noted that the basis for starting the October payments will be the lists of beneficiaries of the 100,000 dram one-time social assistance. He informed that the 40,000 + 10,000 drams will not be awarded to those who have property in Armenia or live in state-supported care facilities. According to him, there are 222 individuals living in care centers, comprising elderly people over 75 and first and second category disabled persons.

Mkrtchyan also mentioned that currently, 2,600 individuals are receiving financial support in cash, and once the November beneficiary lists are finalized, those recipients will also receive their funds non-cash. It was noted that at present, 90,000 individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh possess a bank card.
