Musk May Block X Social Network in Europe
American entrepreneur Elon Musk is considering blocking the X social network (formerly known as Twitter) in Europe. This is reported by Business Insider.
According to the publication, Musk is increasingly frustrated with the necessity to comply with EU regulations regarding digital services.
“The Tesla billionaire, who acquired Twitter, now called X, discussed a year ago the possibility of either making the app simply accessible in the region or blocking access for users in the European Union for $44 billion,” the publication states.
Previously, Politico reported that the European Union has launched an investigation into the X social network to verify the spread of misinformation regarding the conflict in Israel. The social network must be tested to meet the requirements of new European legislation on digital services, which came into effect in August 2023.
