‘He has always been a scoundrel.’ Stas Namin comments on family tragedy
Russian rock legend and founder of the bands 'Парк Горького' and 'Цветы', Stas Namin has commented on the tragedy that occurred in his family. It was previously reported that his stepson, Roman, fatally attacked his younger brother, Artem, and their grandmother, Polina Tkachenko (the mother of Namin's ex-wife), at their summer house in Kryukovo village (Istra district).
“I just learned about this, it’s a terrible tragedy. Roman has never been my son; he is the son of my ex-wife Galina from her first marriage. He has always been a scoundrel. I haven’t been in touch with him for many years because he is an unworthy and despicable person. He has never been my relative,” the artist confessed during a conversation with reporters.
Namin's stepson himself called the law enforcement officers. At that moment, he was under the influence of drugs. The alleged murderer is now waiting for a court session where a preventive measure will be selected for him.
There were initial speculations that Roman killed his brother and grandmother due to property disputes. However, during the interrogation, it became clear that a conflict between relatives had arisen because of Roman's drug addiction. The man was reportedly upset by the frequent admonishments from family members.
Namin’s son and mother-in-law are not Roman Mikoyan's first victims. Sixteen years ago (in January 2007), he had a hit-and-run incident involving a 42-year-old math teacher in southwest Moscow. The case was closed two years later with a suspended sentence.
When Stas Namin married Galina, Roman Mikoyan was just one year old. A few years later, Artem was born. Namin and Galina lived together for 25 years before divorcing in 2015.
