Syria and Egypt Declare Three Days of Mourning for Gaza Hospital Bombing Victims
Syria and Egypt have declared three days of mourning in memory of the hundreds of victims of the explosion that occurred at a hospital in Gaza on October 17.
The SANA news agency reports that all flags will be lowered in the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as at all embassies and diplomatic missions of the country abroad.
Egypt Today, for its part, reports that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has declared a nationwide three-day mourning period in remembrance of the innocent victims of the attack on the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, as well as all victims of the Palestinian people.
“This gesture of solidarity reaffirms Egypt’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and the protection of innocent lives,” the statement noted.
Previously, Iran had also declared mourning for the victims of the explosion at the Gaza hospital.
