Israel Releases Footage to Prove Innocence in Hospital Shelling
Israel has released footage to demonstrate that the shelling of the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza was not carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), arguing that otherwise, the explosion would have left a large crater, while nearby buildings remained undamaged, only a fire spreading.
Alongside the footage, photographs have been attached showing the aftermath of Israeli bombardments, which, according to IDF claims, differ from the airstrikes that occurred yesterday.
The Israeli side asserts that this evidence shows the hospital was hit by a malfunctioning rocket fired by the Islamic Jihad group. The Baptist hospital in Gaza was struck on the evening of October 17, resulting in a death toll exceeding 800.
Footage depicting the aftermath of the airstrike on the hospital in Gaza has also been released. Palestine has accused Israel of responsibility. The Israeli military stated that it is investigating the incident and associates it with an unsuccessful rocket launch by Islamic Jihad.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israeli soldiers did not strike the hospital, holding "the barbaric terrorists of Gaza" responsible for the incident. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has dubbed the attack an "Israeli military crime" and declared three days of mourning.
