VIDEO. "Principals' Salaries Can Reach up to 495,000 Drams", Says Minister

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Zhanna Andreasian, announced in the National Assembly that actually, certified teachers who also have a rank are receiving higher salaries than school principals.

According to her, there can be a violation of the system in terms of maintaining motivational equity. For this reason, a certification system for principals has also been introduced, and reforms have been implemented in principals' salaries, including the provision of bonuses.

The minister reminded that as of September 2023, a new financing system for schools has come into effect. "The average salary of principals has increased by 111,000 drams. The salary is dependent on the size of the school; in larger schools, we have principals with salaries reaching from 475,000 to 495,000 drams," she stated.
