Video: Louvre Museum Visitors Evacuated Due to Bomb Threat
France's largest museum, the Louvre, was closed to visitors on Saturday following reports of a bomb threat. This was reported by BFMTV, citing police sources.
Visitors were swiftly evacuated, and the police cordoned off the museum while an investigation is underway.
According to the museum's press service, TASS correspondent reported that the closure was due to receiving a written notice warning of a threat to the museum and its visitors.
“The Louvre decided, given the current situation in the country (a state of emergency was declared on Friday evening), to evacuate the museum's building and close it for the entire day to carry out necessary checks,” the agency's source said.
Additionally, all visitors with tickets for Saturday were promised a refund.
