Egypt-Gaza Border Crossing May Reopen
The Rafah crossing at the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip is expected to reopen on October 14, likely to facilitate the evacuation of Gaza residents. This was reported by the U.S. State Department, according to RIA Novosti.
The State Department’s crisis management consular system advised that the Rafah crossing could be open on Saturday, as stated in their announcement.
Department representatives are actively discussing the establishment of a corridor for the safe exit of Gaza residents with their Israeli and Egyptian counterparts. “We are working with our Israeli and Egyptian partners to create a safe humanitarian corridor for Gaza residents who are trying to flee this conflict and to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those in need in the region,” the announcement stated.
