Our Faction Will Not Participate: 14 Free Seats for Journalists at Mayor's Oath Ceremony, Yeritsyan

Journalists report that access to the city hall's administrative building for the oath ceremony is being denied to the media. This was stated by Grigor Yeritsyan, a member of the "National Progress" faction on his Facebook page.

"The reason is supposedly the large number of guests, there is no room inside, since our faction is not participating, at least 14 free seats are available for journalists," he wrote.

It should be noted that today the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected mayor Tigran Avinyan was taking place at the Yerevan City Hall. High-ranking officials, including the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, who notably was the first mayor of Yerevan post-independence, were present at the ceremony.

Upon assuming the office of mayor of Yerevan, Avinyan vowed to uphold the Constitution and the laws, enact the decisions of the city council, diligently fulfill his duties, work daily for the well-being of Yerevan and its residents, and protect the legal interests of citizens.

Additionally, it should be noted that during Tigran Avinyan's entrance, Sasun Mikayelyan, the head of the Union of Armenian Volunteers, did not stand up.
