Incident in Yeraskh Unrelated to Desecration of State Symbols, Investigative Committee Clarifies
The mentioned incident is unrelated to the desecration of state symbols, as it concerns the damage to banners depicting flags. This was announced by the Investigative Committee.
On September 30, 2023, a report was received regarding an incident that took place on September 26 at around 17:40, when individuals approached a checkpoint of the Russian border guard troops by car, threatened the servicemen on duty, and damaged a banner posted there, causing material damage.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigative Division of the Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee based on Article 264, Part 1, and Article 194, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
Additionally, on October 8, 2023, a report was received stating that on the previous day, at approximately 22:55, unknown individuals had damaged a banner symbolizing the friendship of the Armenian and Russian peoples located in the central part of the village of Yeraskh in the Ararat region with a knife.
A criminal case has also been initiated based on Article 264, Part 2, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code regarding this incident.
For both cases, necessary measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances and identify the individuals who allegedly committed the crimes. In this regard, the respective subdivision of the police has been instructed to conduct operational-investigative measures.
