Gaza Strip to Lose Power in Three Hours, Says Palestinian Authority

The Gaza Strip is set to lose power within three hours, announced Jalal Ismail, head of the Palestinian energy sector. Earlier, Arabic-language reports referencing the Palestinian Electricity Authority indicated that only 11-12 hours of electricity remained in the region.

According to Palestinian officials, supplies of fuel to Gaza's only power plant have reached a critical level. They stated that the power plant will shut down around 14:00 local time.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant had previously ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip. The UN and various international humanitarian organizations have warned that this decision will affect 600,000 Palestinian civilians.
