Israeli Minister of National Security Announces Purchase of 10,000 Rifles for Reserves

Israel is purchasing 10,000 firearms. The National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir announced this on his social media page.

“I have ordered the purchase of over 10,000 firearms. In the first phase, 4,000 rifles have been procured, and starting today, they will be distributed to reservists in settlements near the frontlines and in mixed cities (Jewish and Arab),” the statement read.

The minister also announced the appointment of former police chief Shimon Lavi to lead the formation and armament project for volunteer units.
