Video: Residents told to remove valuable items as houses begin to be demolished in Silikian district

Residents have been instructed to remove valuable items from their homes as demolition of the houses has started. This was reported by journalist Lilith Barseghyan on her Facebook page, along with accompanying videos and photos.

"Yerevan Municipality, can you clarify this? This is happening in the Silikian district; they came in the morning, told the people to remove valuable items, and have begun demolishing the houses," she wrote.

According to the journalist, there are questions about the validity of these actions as some houses have a history of over 10 years, and regular utility payments have been made by the residents. "Does the municipality have the right to come and proceed with demolition without notice?" Barseghyan wrote, adding, "The photos were just sent, and now the people cannot stop the demolition process..."
