Photo Report: By Acknowledging the Territory of Armenia as 29,800 km², We are Handing Over Several Areas in Tavush and Ararat Regions to Azerbaijan
Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan presented the consequences of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's signed document in Granada: “By acknowledging the territory of Armenia as 29,800 square km, we are handing over several areas in Tavush and Ararat regions to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan refuses to give Armenia the Armenian enclave (Artsvashen). This means that in exchange for concessions, we receive nothing. As a result of territorial concessions, we face direct military presence of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Tavush, Ararat, and Vayots Dzor regions.
With these territorial concessions, Armenia is deprived of its two main secure routes connecting it to the outside world. New concessions will result in the key roads connecting to Iran and Georgia coming under Turkish control (thus, the 'North-South' road project will die). In other words, the beautiful expression of 'transportation unblocking' turns into a complete isolation of Armenia.”
