Artsakh Residents Can Find Homes and Meet Needs Through Support Programs, Says KEROBYAN
Residents displaced from Artsakh can rent homes and cover their essential needs through the support and financial programs provided by the Armenian government. This statement was made by the Minister of Economy, Vahan Kerobyan, after a government meeting while answering journalists' questions.
According to Kerobyan, there are approximately 50,000 empty apartments and houses currently available in Armenia, allowing Artsakh residents to find accommodation at fairly reasonable prices and conditions. He cited an example of one of his friends, whose eight-member family has rented a house in Parakar for 200,000 drams.
Kerobyan also noted that in the village of Kornidzor in Syunik province, they participated in the process of providing primary food supplies to forcibly displaced individuals, and over 3-4 days, around 75,000 food packages were distributed to people from Artsakh.
Journalists also asked the Minister of Economy about the handover of Artsakh. "The leadership of Artsakh had another name at the moment the signing was done by the state bodies of Nagorno-Karabakh… you know who signed, why are you saying that it’s Nikol Pashinyan… Ask me another question… Ask me an economic question," Kerobyan responded.
It is also worth noting that a one-time payment of 100,000 drams will be allocated from the Armenian budget to those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. Additionally, a monthly amount of 40,000 drams will be provided for housing expenses for each family, calculated for one person.
