Azerbaijan and Iran Plan Joint Naval Exercises in the Caspian Sea

Azerbaijan and Iran have reached a preliminary agreement to conduct joint naval exercises in the Caspian Sea, as reported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense.

"The commander of the Azerbaijani naval forces, Rear Admiral Subkhan Bekirov, met with a visiting Iranian delegation in Baku," the ministry stated.

During the meeting, the importance of the "Khazri-2023" exercises was emphasized, highlighting the significance of future joint naval drills between Azerbaijan and Iran in the Caspian Sea, which led to a preliminary agreement.

Additionally, discussions were held about the prospects for developing military cooperation between the naval forces of the two countries.
