First and Foremost, Samvel Babayan Should Stand Before the Court: Arthur Khachatryan

Arthur Khachatryan, a member of the "Armenia" parliamentary faction, stated in the National Assembly that the Armenian authorities must take all necessary measures to raise international awareness in order to secure the release of our compatriots taken hostage by Azerbaijan.

Referring to the statements of former Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, Samvel Babayan, Khachatryan noted that first and foremost, Babayan should stand before the court.

He also added that the Armenian Revolutionary Federation does not consider the issue of Artsakh closed. “Even if there are no Armenians living there today, it does not mean that they have lost their right to live in their homeland. First, we must ensure the survival of the Armenians of Artsakh here, we need to give them time to breathe, and prevent anti-Artsakh actions. If any resident of Artsakh participates in protests, they should be deprived of support, and we must take action in the international arena to prevent cultural vandalism, so that a few years later Azerbaijan doesn’t declare that no Armenians lived there,” he emphasized.
