This is a scam, this is a charade: Donald Trump
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has labeled the civil lawsuit against him and his company, the Trump Organization, as a scam and a fraud. This was reported by RIA Novosti as the court hearings for the civil lawsuit against Trump are set to begin on October 2 in New York.
"This is a scam, this is a charade," Trump stated in a conversation with reporters ahead of the court hearings. He emphasized that a crime is being committed against him, as both the district attorney and the attorney general are corrupt.
Trump believes that all the charges brought against him are political and designed to hinder his candidacy in the presidential elections scheduled for 2024. Last week, a New York judge found Trump guilty of fraud. According to Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling, Trump had inflated his wealth by more than $2 billion over several years in order to secure more favorable loan terms.
New York Attorney General Letitia James is demanding that Trump pay a $250 million fine. Additionally, she seeks to bar him from conducting business in the state of New York. According to the BBC, as a result of this action, the Trump Organization may be forced to relinquish control of its assets to a court-appointed individual.
This civil lawsuit does not pose a threat of imprisonment for Trump. The former U.S. president has also been charged with criminal offenses. He is accused of attempting to overturn the election results in Georgia, violating protocols regarding the handling of classified documents, and making payments to silence porn star Stormy Daniels, which led to falsifying business reports.
