UK to Deploy Troops in Ukraine for the First Time, Says The Telegraph
British troops will be deployed in Ukraine for the first time: This initiative comes from the new UK Defense Secretary Grant Shapps, reflecting significant support from the British side. The minister himself mentioned this during an interview with The Telegraph.
Shapps also stated that he has been in discussions with military leaders regarding relocating the official UK training program to Ukraine. The UK's Defense Secretary has urged British defense companies to open more factories in Ukraine.
Recently visiting Kyiv, Shapps discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the role of the British Navy in protecting against Russian attacks in the Black Sea. It was noted that under the UK-led 'Operation Interflex', over 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained since the onset of Russia's large-scale war.
