What will the UN mission do in Artsakh? Details
The UN mission, which will be sent to Nagorno-Karabakh at the request of Baku, will focus on identifying the humanitarian needs of the region's citizens. This announcement was made by the official representative of the UN Secretary-General, Stefan Dujarric.
Earlier, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs had reported that the UN mission's visit was expected. “The team will try to assess the situation on-site and clarify the humanitarian needs of both those remaining in Artsakh and those departing,” Dujarric stated during a press briefing.
He noted that the mission will depart over the weekend, and it will include a technical team from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, as well as representatives from various agencies of the organization.
