Mother See Addresses Issues of Displaced Armenians from Artsakh
The office of social services at the Mother See, along with Armenian dioceses, is currently engaged in addressing the spiritual, humanitarian, and social needs of compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh. A statement released by the information system of the Mother See notes that the issue of providing shelter is a primary focus.
"At this moment, work is being carried out to provide shelter to displaced individuals from Artsakh at the Mother See, as well as in the dioceses of Vayots Dzor, Shirak, Gugark, Gegharkunik, Armavir, Syunik, Masis, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Tavush. A large number of displaced individuals have already settled in diocesan shelters," the statement mentions.
Clergy members are visiting families settled in various communities. Social support is being provided in all dioceses of Armenia, including food, clothing, and essential supplies. The Diocese of Masis has already organized daily food supplies for around 400 people.
The charitable kitchens operating under the auspices of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Armenian General Benevolent Union in Yerevan and Vagharshapat are also ready to provide food for the displaced Artsakh Armenians.
Izmirlian Hospital is prepared to offer necessary medical assistance to compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh. Remember, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack against Artsakh on September 19, resulting in at least 200 deaths and over 400 injuries in just one day due to the Azerbaijani aggression.
