Armenian State Debt Exceeds $11 Billion Threshold
The newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak" reports that as of August 31 of this year, the Armenian state debt has reached 4 trillion 395.1 billion AMD, which is a 5% increase compared to December 31, 2022, and an 8.7% increase compared to August 31, 2022.
In dollar terms, the state debt amounts to $11 billion 386.9 million.
The government debt of Armenia stands at 4 trillion 185.6 billion AMD, an increase of 5.4% from December 31, 2022, and 9.4% from August 31, 2022. In dollars, the government debt is $10 billion 844.1 million.
91% of the external debt is attributed to the government, while 9% belongs to the Central Bank. The largest share of government external loans and borrowings comes from the World Bank, followed by the Asian Development Bank, which holds an 18.8% share.
