Former Milan Player Andriy Shevchenko Becomes Advisor to Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed former football player and national team coach Andriy Shevchenko as an independent advisor to the president.

Shevchenko coached the Ukrainian national team from July 2016 to August 2021. Prior to that, he played as a forward for Dynamo Kyiv, AC Milan, and Chelsea.

According to France Football magazine, he was the recipient of the 2004 Ballon d'Or, awarded to the best football player in Europe. He has made 111 appearances for the Ukrainian national team, scoring 48 goals.
