Children from Nagorno-Karabakh Can Attend Nearby Schools, Says Armenian Ministry of Education
The Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has discussed the organization of education for individuals displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. This information has been reported by the ministry's press service.
To implement this process, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan and her deputies met with representatives of organizations engaged in educational activities.
The minister informed that an assessment of the needs of children forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh is already underway. “Children can attend the nearest school based on their current place of residence. They should be quickly enrolled in the educational process, regardless of the availability of documents at the time of application. All students will be provided with the necessary textbooks and educational materials. Students in vocational schools, colleges, and universities will also continue their studies in Armenian educational institutions according to their fields of study,” Minister Andreasyan noted during the meeting.
The minister emphasized that the most important aspect of these processes is maintaining the confidentiality of children's personal data.
The ministry has also sent a circular letter to the heads of higher educational institutions in Armenia, inviting them to direct their efforts towards organizing assistance for our compatriots who have been forcibly displaced.
Minister Andreasyan proposed to create a platform through joint efforts, allowing teachers, coaches, and specialists in the cultural sector who have been displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to find out about available job openings in their professional fields.
She also highlighted the importance of implementing psychological support programs, particularly for our compatriots displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, especially children.
In conclusion, Minister Andreasyan suggested that participants in the meeting present their programs in writing, categorized by direction, community, and so on.
