Few Missing in Askeran, But Many Military Casualties: Local Mayor

Few missing in Askeran, but we have many casualties among the military. This was stated by the mayor of Askeran, Haik Shamiaryan, in an interview with NEWS.am.

“All of Artsakh is being evacuated, including Askeran. During this process, the population is being displaced. There aren’t many missing persons in Askeran, but we have numerous casualties, mainly among the military. The Turks are now just 200 meters away from Askeran. Once the entire population of Askeran is evacuated, I will leave last; I will not leave until the last person has exited. People have reached their breaking point. Everyone’s nervous system is disturbed. No one can imagine what is happening here. Until a person feels it on their own skin, they cannot comprehend how people are living here right now,” Shamiaryan said.

In his interview with the media, he mentioned that search and rescue operations are still ongoing in the city.
