Displaced Armenians from Artsakh Mainly Include Women, Children, and Seniors: Details from Goris Deputy Mayor
All those displaced from Artsakh who express a desire not to continue their journey after reaching Kornidzor are accepted and settled in Goris, according to Goris Deputy Mayor Irina Yolyan in an interview with Armenpress.
“Their needs are assessed here. Those who require medical assistance or any other services have it organized on-site until their needs are evaluated and they receive appropriate support. We accommodate those who wish to stay in Goris in local hotels, while those who want to go to other places, such as Sisian, Tatev community, or Vayots Dzor, continue their journey. There are people whose relatives come to meet them and take them into their homes,” Yolyan elaborated, adding that the displaced from Artsakh are mainly women, children, and seniors.
