Earthquake Northeast of Tbilisi Felt in Lori and Tavush Regions

An earthquake has been recorded 16 kilometers northeast of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, today, which was also felt in two regions of Armenia. This information has been provided by the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

"On September 24, at 08:00 local time (04:00 GMT), the seismic network of the Ministry's Seismic Protection Territorial Service registered an earthquake at a geographical coordinate of 41.82° N latitude and 44.88° E longitude, 16 kilometers northeast of Tbilisi, with an epicenter at a depth of 10 kilometers and a magnitude of 4.4," the statement reads.

The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral area reached 6 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was felt in the Lori and Tavush regions of Armenia with a force of 2-3 on the Richter scale.
