US Encourages Direct Negotiations to Increase Supply Flow to Nagorno-Karabakh, Blinken
The United States welcomed the important humanitarian supplies delivered today (September 18) through the Lachin corridor and the Agdam (Aknə) road to Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on his X social media microblog.
He added that he discussed the approach with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. “We encourage direct negotiations to increase the flow of humanitarian supplies,” the Secretary of State wrote.
Recall that it was reported yesterday morning that a simultaneous passage of International Committee of the Red Cross trucks was organized through the Aknə-Stepanakert and Berdzor-Stepanakert roads.
According to the Artsakh Information Headquarters, on September 18, 2023, approximately 28 tons of humanitarian cargo consisting of wheat flour, medical supplies, and hygiene products were delivered to Artsakh via Red Cross vehicles through the Lachin corridor and the Aknə-Stepanakert road. This humanitarian mission is the result of extensive discussions involving the International Committee of the Red Cross, the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh, and international mediators, considering the extremely difficult humanitarian situation created due to Azerbaijan's complete blockade.
