Defense Forces Deny Pressure on GPS System of Flight from Baku to Tbilisi
The Azerbaijani side disseminated its third false message on September 19, claiming that the relevant subdivisions of the Defense Forces suppressed the GPS positioning system of a civilian aircraft flying from Baku to Tbilisi between 20:28 and 20:34 on September 18. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Artsakh Republic.
The statement from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense is an absolute fabrication. The aircraft flying on the specified route does not need to cross the airspace of the Artsakh Republic, nor even approach it.
By repeatedly spreading such false claims, Azerbaijan aims to divert the international community's attention from the humanitarian disaster caused by the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and to prepare an informational basis for the next provocation.
Once again, we emphasize that throughout the military operations of 2020 and thereafter, it has been the Azerbaijani side that has consistently targeted the civilian infrastructure of the Artsakh Republic, blocking the Lachin Corridor, disrupting the supply of gas and electricity, and suppressing the accessibility of internet and mobile communications.
