This is a difficult situation: Zelensky admits that the counteroffensive is progressing slowly
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has admitted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive is progressing slowly, but the troops are making advances. He pointed out that "the key is to not give the Russian occupiers a moment's rest," as reported by TASS.
"This is a difficult situation. I will be completely honest with you: we have halted the Russian offensive and moved to counteroffensive, but it is not happening as quickly as we would like. It is important that we move forward every day and liberate territories. We must free our land as much as possible and push forward, even if it is just half a mile or less than a hundred yards; we must do it. We should not give Putin a chance to breathe," Zelensky said in an interview with CBS.
According to him, the war has transformed into an artillery battle.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported that the Ukrainian army has been attempting offensive actions since June 4. On September 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that during this period, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 71,500 soldiers, 543 tanks, and nearly 18,000 armored vehicles of various classes.
