Hayk Marutyan Shares His Position on Coalition Talks: ArmLur
Hayk Marutyan is open to uniting with the "Mother Armenia" alliance and the "Public Voice" party, but only on the condition that no coalition or other type of agreement is signed, reports ArmLur.am, citing its sources.
According to our sources, Marutyan has conveyed to the parties that if they are truly intent on defeating Nikol Pashinyan's team, it would be logical for everyone to come together and elect him as mayor, as he has garnered the most votes. Once Yerevan is liberated from the grip of the ruling party, further negotiations can begin around other issues, the media outlet writes.
Based on the outlet’s information, Andranik Tevanyan is the most constructive regarding this matter, but it is contingent on liberating Yerevan from Nikol Pashinyan’s party. Conversely, the "Public Voice" party seems reluctant to unite without a formal agreement, insisting that they are agreeable to electing Marutyan as mayor only if the oversight mechanisms are handed over to them.
It is worth mentioning that as of 10:00 AM, the Central Electoral Commission presented the preliminary results of the voting for the Yerevan City Council from all 475 polling stations in Yerevan. There are 824,250 citizens registered in Yerevan’s voter registry, and 234,436 citizens participated in the voting, which accounts for 28.44% of eligible voters.
