This Participation Rate is the Lowest for Yerevan: Vahagn Hovakimyan

This participation rate is the lowest for Yerevan. However, I can say that the dynamics of the last elections have been consistently decreasing. This was stated by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Vahagn Hovakimyan. He also added that it is the voters' decision; they are free to choose whether to vote or not. According to him, popular elections generally have a low turnout rate worldwide.

It should be noted that the participation in the Yerevan City Council elections in 2023 was 234,553 citizens (28.46%) by 20:00, compared to 370,323 citizens (43.65%) in 2018 and 345,226 citizens (40.99%) in 2017.
