Video: Wrestler Arman Andreasian Aiming for World Championship Medal
At the World Wrestling Championship that has kicked off in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade, two wrestlers from the Armenian national team have entered the competition today.
In the 61 kg weight category, Norik Harutyunyan lost his first match with a score of 0:5 against Belarusian Andrey Bekrenev.
On the other hand, our second wrestler, Arman Andreasian, competing in the 70 kg weight category, is vying for a medal at the World Championship. The Armenian wrestler has fought three matches and celebrated three victories. He defeated Chinese wrestler Nan Chao with a score of 4:1, then North Macedonia's Fati Veiseli with a score of 5:2, and finally, in the quarter-finals, Andreasian outperformed Japanese Yoshinosuke Aoyagi with a score of 5:3.
This evening, to reach the finals, Arman Andreasian will compete against American Zain Retherford.
It should be noted that other members of the Armenian national team participating in the World Championship include Arsen Harutyunyan (57 kg), Vazgen Tevanian (65 kg), Hrayr Alikhanyan (74 kg), Arman Avagyan (79 kg), and Sergey Sargsyan (97 kg).
