VIDEO. I remember with pain when Armenians from Artsakh sought help, the world chose not to listen: Cox
“My colleague and I have been to Armenia numerous times and 30 years ago we wrote a report about what was happening in Artsakh during those days. Unfortunately, 30 years later, the situation in Artsakh has not improved,” stated Baroness Caroline Cox, a member of the House of Lords from Great Britain, adding that after Artsakh, it will be Armenia’s turn.
Caroline Cox expressed her sorrow over the actions of international powers that continue to exert pressure on Armenia to accept Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Artsakh. Therefore, she raises the question of who will respond if Baku lays claim to Yerevan, Syunik, or Lake Sevan.
“I am always astonished by the unanimity with which you share a common goal, which is to live peacefully, with dignity and security in your own land. This yearning continues to fill my heart. We remember the horrors of the first Nagorno-Karabakh war, I was there in person and witnessed the immense suffering inflicted on your people by Azerbaijan. I personally witnessed how 400 rockets were fired daily at Stepanakert, and saw how a 500 kg bomb fell on civilian houses. I remember with great sorrow when the people of Artsakh called for help, when they called out to the world, and the world chose not to listen. Many nations turned a blind eye, thus further supporting the perpetrators who continued their violence and murders with impunity,” the baroness said.
It should be noted that the day before, she visited the beginning of the Lachin corridor, where humanitarian aid trucks have been standing for a long time.
