Video: We are ready to accept our female citizens aged 18-27 for the winter draft, Papikyan

Women who have served in the army in Armenia will receive 1 million drams at the end of their service, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during today's government meeting. He noted that this is an important aspect.

Pashinyan announced that he plans to visit soon and personally get acquainted with the ongoing work to ensure that everything goes as he intends.

“Let’s not hide it—initially there will be many doubts and smirks, but the most important thing is that we approach the issue seriously. All our procedures and permanent deployment locations must adhere to the highest possible standards, and our attitude must also be as serious as possible. When we discuss this, I say: previously, we talked about the absence of children in the army, that there is no child in the army, but there is a soldier. My approach is the same in this case—there is no woman in the army, there is no man in the army, there is a soldier or a military person, and we must be guided by this logic,” said the Prime Minister.

Women who have applied for mandatory military service on a voluntary basis will be able to join during the winter draft in 2024.

Nikol Pashinyan instructed to be prepared and equipped for the winter draft. “We will be physically ready to accept them for the winter draft, but considering the work we are also preparing in schools, the main expectation will be for the summer draft. However, we are ready to accept our female citizens aged 18-27 for the winter draft,” said Defense Minister Suren Papikyan.

In response, Nikol Pashinyan suggested forgetting about summer and focusing now on winter. He emphasized that all resources must be invested to solve the issue of having the predetermined number of draftees for the winter draft.
