Azerbaijan Opens Fire on Armenian Positions in Verin Shorja: Armenian Ministry of Defense

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has issued a statement which we present below:

"On September 13, at approximately 03:40, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire with small arms on Armenian positions located in the Verin Shorja region (Gegharkunik Province)," the statement reads.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense reported that serviceman Aleks Suren Avanesyan was killed due to gunfire wounds.

"An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident."
