20-Year-Old Alex Avanesyan Who Died from Gunshot Wound Was Only Child from Getamej Village

On September 12 at approximately 19:50, 20-year-old Alex Sureni Avanesyan, who succumbed to a gunshot wound, was reported to be from Getamej village in the Kotayk region. One of the neighbors told NEWS.am that Alex was the only child in the family and lived with his mother and grandmother.

“They were an ordinary family, living under typical social conditions. His mother worked, and he helped her. He was drafted into the army at the age of 20; prior to that, he was studying in Abovyan City to become a programmer. He was a very smart, good child. It’s such a pity, I can’t believe he’s gone,” the neighbor recounted, adding that Alex was serving in one of the military units in the Tavush region.

It is important to note that an investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding Alex Avanesyan's death.
